Lot's of chatter about whether holy Joe should keep his chairmanship of the Homeland Security Committee.
Let me be clear about this to the Senate Dems.
You owe us.
We blockwalked, we phonebanked and we gave until it hurt this election cycle, not just to Obama, and not just to dem candidates in our own states, but to democratic candidates all over the country.
If you are anywhere near 60 seats, you have us to thank.
It's payback time.
Lieberman wasn't just insulting Barack Obama, he was insulting all of us. We've had enough. He sucked as a chair and I don't trust him. No one trusts him. If you want to keep him in the caucus and make him chair of a subcommittee to count paper clips, knock yourself out.
But don't insult the ground troops by rewarding the asshole who did everything he could to derail the movement we worked so hard for. Don't you dare. He has no leverage and nowhere to go.
HEAD ON PLATTER!! WANT!!!
kai, thx, bai
Update: I see that Bernie Sanders has got our back. As does Senator Leahy from Vermont. Sanders makes the case exactly:
"To reward Senator Lieberman with a major committee chairmanship would be a slap in the face of millions of Americans who worked tirelessly for Barack Obama and who want to see real change in our country," Sanders in the statement sent our way by his office.
"Appointing someone to a major post who led the opposition to everything we are fighting for is not 'change we can believe in,'" Sanders continued.
